Bill Oberst Jr. Wallpapers: Behind-The-Scenes "Vivid"

When Director Brandon Slagle asked Bill to do a cameo for his horror feature Vivid, he gave Oberst the opportunity to help create the character’s look. Oberst chose an homage to one of his favorite actors.

“I thought Sean Harris was scary as hell as the drug dealer Stretch in the Michael Caine film Harry Brown. Brandon liked it, so I brought in a personal make-up artist to do that same scarred, emaciated look for my Vivid character, who was a nightmare vision of a drug dealer terrorizing Devanny Pinn.

The spider-like crawl down the stairway that is seen in the film’s trailer and in this wallpaper was not scripted. Director Slagle suggested it to Oberst on set and asked cast member Keith Kraft, who does creature work, to choreograph the insect-like crawl down the stone stairway. Kraft came up with the movement style on the spot and taught it to Oberst. The resulting shot is in the film’s trailer and can also be glimpsed in the special Anatomy Of Fear video on this site.
