“When we were casting the role of ‘Theodore Snyder’ in PRINCESS AND THE PONY, it did come down to Bill and one other actor. The other actor was a bit closer to what we had in mind physically for the part. Ultimately, however, it was acting talent that we had to cling onto, and that’s what Bill had over everyone else we saw. Bill had that rare combination of being both a brilliant actor and an extreme pleasure to have on set.
Bill was insistent that we make the stunts as real as possible, to the point of throwing himself to the ground in several scenes, and darting out of the way of stampeding horses. It made the stunt better, it made the scenes better and, ultimately, made the film better.
He remains one of the best actors that I have ever worked with.”
